My OvenGUARDĀ© is an electronic device which turns off the stove or oven after the user has used up the chosen set time. The user sets the usage time on the controller unit by pressing one of the 3 buttons on the unit. One can choose 30 min, 2 hours or 5 hours. There is a display on the controller unit which shows the time left after starting the timer. A buzzer will give a short sound signal when the time starts and when the time ends. The controller is easily accessible by the user as it is placed on the kitchen bench beside the oven/stove and the user can choose a usage time by pressing a button on this device. After this set time is used up the oven/stove shuts down the electrical power is disconnected in the stove/oven and this prevents any fires being caused by user forgetting to shut down the oven/stove after cooking the food. As an added safety feature the oven guard has IR-heat sensor which will automatically shut down the oven or stove in case of fire if it detects a high temperature on the stove plate it shuts down the oven/stove. OvenGUARDĀ© only works for electric ovens or stoves.Ā

The user connects the OvenGUARDĀ© between the 400 VAC AC mains and the oven. The controller is then placed on the kitchen bench and the heat sensor is mounted on the wall behind the stove (about 45 cm) as shown in the figure below.

The plug with which to connect from the PSU unit to the 400 VAC mains on the wall is a
5-pin Perilex plug. On the PSU is a Perilex socket and into this socket the stove/oven Perilex
5-pin plug is plugged in. The Perilex plug must must have this cable schematic connection

Easy to install provided you have a stove outlet, so the stove is not permanently plugged in. Works well, easy to use.
